Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
How long have you wanted to live a happier and more fulfilled life? Research shows that much unhappiness and many symptoms of depression, anxiety (along with resentment and anger) can be alleviated by changing our perception. By modifying our thoughts and acquiring new life skills, we can be on our way to becoming a happier individual. We can't change our history. We CAN reduce its power to make us unhappy. I would love to help you build more fulfilling relationships, improve communication, repair broken relationships, increase intimacy, heal past trauma, reduce stress & empower yourself; mentally, emotionally, socially and spiritually. I utilize a brief therapy model and focus on empowering individuals to take control of their lives. I have extensive knowledge & experience working in a number of mental, social & emotional health related areas. I also work at a university which helps me stay current regarding new research and best practices. I work with individuals, couples & families. If you're interested in improving your relationships, feeling better & working with a therapist who genuinely cares for her clients, please call. Therapy need not be a threatening experience. It can be a process that helps us live more productively resulting in healthier relationships. "

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
