Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Counseling with me is informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy, EFT, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, DBT. We will create a safe, non-judgmental space from which to begin the work together. I have experience working with individuals, couples and families who have challenges in the areas of substance abuse, anxiety, depression, borderline issues and relationship. I also enjoy working with the LGBT community specifically with Transgender people and their families. My rich life experience (fancy language for I’m “older” and have done a lot of things including being a Genius for Apple!) has given me a unique position with respect to meeting people right where they are. This allows me to truly align with people from a variety of situations and life styles including support for families who have members who are transgender and to be an ally with individuals as they begin the amazing and challenging process of transition.

Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
