Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Doris has been serving individuals, families and groups in private practice since 1994, exploring attachment styles and the dynamic interplay between psychological and spiritual integration. Her work seeks to integrate Gestalt therapy and other existential/humanistic approaches, experiential/dynamic techniques, attachment theory, hypnotherapy, interaction with archetypes and body mind techniques.

She is committed to nurture a non-threatening environment in which clients are encouraged to share honestly, listen deeply and express all the repressed, disowned, guilt-ridden and defamed parts they have learned to reject and withdraw from. She believes that in an atmosphere of unconditional positive regard all parts in time reveal themselves and can be seen, cared for and integrated.

Her clients are invited to explore creative ways of cultivating a rich and passionate life by expressing who they are through writing, tending to dreams, spontaneous movement and sound, healing art, and other unique creative responses to what is emerging from within.

During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
