Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Emotions! They can be the source of great turmoil and great fulfillment. They can hurt and they can heal. The way we express how we feel can corrode relationships or create stronger connections. My job as your therapist is to help you work with your emotional states of being in such a way as to bring about greater peace of mind and greater security in relationships. My work is to cultivate connections that nourish and heal - connections to self and/or others - and I do that work in a compassionate and collaborative way with the utmost respect for my clients. I work with couples to help them shift out of adversarial, polarized or disconnected states of relating to more supportive, collaborative and connected experiences in relationship. I work with parents to help them develop and/or strengthen emotional adaptation skills that simplify parenting and aid in supporting the healthy development of their children. I work with individuals to help them access internal and interpersonal resources for more effectively managing difficult emotions and conflict. I devote myself to supporting each client's unique path to deeper self-awareness, self-knowledge and self-acceptance. I believe that together we can co-create a therapeutic relationship that becomes a potent vehicle for change: a safe, respectful, conscious, purposeful, challenging relationship that serves to help you overcome obstacles and bring you closer to having the life and relationships you desire. Call me for a free 20-minute consultation.
