Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I have extensive experience treating both adults and children. I have worked in school and clinic settings with children and their family members, including creating a mental health program in LAUSD schools as the Clinical Director of a State of California Healthy Start Grant. I also enjoy assisting couples and families to improve their communication and enhance the quality of their family relationships. I have worked extensively with individuals recovering from traumas, depression and anxiety as well as with clients wishing to improve self-esteem, reduce stress, build stronger relationships, and enhance the ability to express and manage feelings. I designed and taught a class called "Express Yourself" for the Los Angeles Dept of Recreation and Parks and I have taught parenting classes privately and in non-profit settings. I use a variety of skills tailored to the specific needs and strengths of each client.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
