Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I meet with clients in the comfort and privacy of their own homes (office hours are also available upon request) . By offering late afternoon, early evening and weekend appointments my goal is to make quality therapy accessible to people with busy schedules. My in-home approach not only provides the most convenient and confidential environment possible, but also allows individuals, couples and families to feel more at ease when discussing their feelings and concerns. Utilizing several short-term therapy models, I help people gain the necessary insight and skills to make meaningful progress toward goals in order to successfully cope with life's emotional and relational issues.

Patricia Ravitz, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
San Rafael, CA

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
