Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has fifteen years of experience providing psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, couples and families. I work from a position of empowering each client and together we explore ways to living a happier and more fulfilled life. Each person's story is unique and respected as the therapeutic self-discovery process unfolds. My approach is integrative and tailored to the needs of the client whether it is short term work to address a problem that interferes with their current functioning or more long term work to help them gain insight into their life long patterns and relationship issues. I provide a nonjudgmental and supportive environment to all my clients in order for them to reach their treatment goals.

Patricia Ravitz, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
San Rafael, CA

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
