Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Stress, self-consciousness, sadness, fear: they're part of being human. But if feelings like these are becoming so overwhelming that they're affecting your well-being or your relationships, I can be a supportive ally on your way toward healing and balance. In working with clients facing depression, anxiety, body image issues, trauma, and creative or relationship struggles, my role is that of an insightful collaborator. We can explore your core beliefs and attitudes, improve communication, boost your self-esteem, figure out what's holding you back, and brainstorm strategies that will propel you toward your most fulfilling life. I love working with adults, teens, and couples using humor, authenticity, warmth, and openness. With my entertainment industry background, I also understand the struggles of those who choose a creative career (rejection, performance anxiety, financial uncertainty, procrastination, loneliness, relationship ruptures -- sound familiar?). Through additional training in Somatic Experiencing and mindfulness, as well as researching links between traumatic experiences and body image issues, I've gained a deep appreciation for the mind-body connection. I'm honored to help clients work toward banishing the burden of 'perfection' in exchange for balance and fulfillment.

Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
