Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I work with clients who have substance abuse (either their own or a family member), difficulties with expressing anger appropriately (assertiveness), anxiety, depression, and problems with their relationships. I also offer a lower cost alternative to individual sessions with groups for anger, parenting, women's empowerment, and relationship skill building groups. I can offer a sliding scale fee for those with lower incomes. My clients come to therapy for a wide variety of situations including ADHD, anger management, anxiety, autistic spectrum, bereavement/grief, chemical dependency, codependency, couples issues, depression, eating disorders, elderly issues, learning differences, parenting education, and psychosomatic complaints. I work with ADHD, Asperger's, Learning Differences, Relationship Skill Building, Anger, Parenting, Women's Issues, and Substance Abuse with both the abuser and the family. I use an eclectic blend of mindfulness therapy, art therapy, animal assisted therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. My Practice includes AAT (Animal Assisted Therapy), Art Therapy (altered books, god boxes, personal shrines, collage, journaling, and hand-weaving), EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association, EAGALA certified). Contemplative Psychology (Mindfulness), Deep Breathing, EFT (Tapping), Guided Imagery, and Meditation.

Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
