Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Psychotherapy is a highly individualized work in progress. With a well-trained and attuned ear, I will listen and help you give voice to what cries out beneath the surface. My approach is eclectic, concentrating first on the establishment of a safe environment and a sound trusting therapeutic relationship. Ongoing dialogue, dream work, journaling, multigenerational work, automatic writing, communication work, art work, family history exploration; one or more of these may be part of finding a solution for you. Together we will uncover the means that will help you live more joyfully and comfortably in your life. My depth psychology background provides me with the understanding that relationships with others and relationship with one’s own mind, body and soul are he fertile ground where change may grow. Listening to each one of these three aspects is key in the integrative process that promotes wholeness.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
