Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I specialize in working with youth and young adults ages 12-25, who are experiencing difficulty with life and family transitions, anxiety, and depression. Young adulthood is an exciting time rich with change and growth for most youth, but it may also be a scary or difficult time, particularly if there are other factors at play, including stress or changes within the family, school, or social networks. In addition to stressors, negative or maladaptive thoughts or behaviors can contribute to or exacerbate feelings of anxiety or depression. Through my experience and understanding of young adults’ needs and concerns, I am able to help clients recognize and change their thoughts or behaviors, leading to decreased anxiety or depression, and increased self-esteem. I am very familiar with the agencies and support available in Napa and life to work collaboratively with these resources, finding it greatly benefits my clients.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
