Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I assume a direct and active role in the process of my patients. Clients who complete the therapeutic process have an increased awareness of feelings and needs, the skills to meet their needs, greater congruence between inner feelings and outward behaviors, decreased dependence on others, and freedom from painful symptoms. This orientation has proved successful with patients suffering from anxiety disorders and chronic depression, sexual orientation conflicts, and has been invaluable to me in working with adolescents who are perceived as impossible by parents and school personnel. Behavior is viewed from intrapsychic and interpersonal perspectives. Dysfunction in relationships are largely the result of painful interpersonal relationships in the family of origin. The psychodynamic approach attempts to explain why, while the experiential approach provides the process for change and allows individuals to express feelings and emotions releasing the pain. I work evenings an every other Saturday (for the most part).

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Carlsbad, CA

I provide a therapeutic environment that allows individuals and couples to explore ideas, beliefs, life experiences, thoughts and feelings that may stand in the way of being who you truly want to be. I can help point out repeating dysfunctional patterns that may exsist in relationships at home, at work and with friends and family.I teach people how to respond in their lives versus getting caught in reacting to personalities and events.
