Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
"I have pitched my tent in the land of hope." I believe counseling can be a powerful opportunity to find radical acceptance, hope and tools to address whatever we may be stuck in. I incorporate Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, (DBT) a theory which integrates mindfulness, acceptance and skill-building to help equip us for life's battle. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to address lies or thought-patterns that may contribute to our current life pain. I strongly believe that one should find a therapist that is a good fit. I am open to help aid you in finding that good fit if I am not that one.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
