Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Tired of talking? Talk therapy is not for everyone. My perspective on the human experience includes looking at the whole person, from thoughts and feelings, to the physical experiences you are having. I believe that our bodies are an endless source of information and that we can harness this to help move through the challenges and wounds we experience. Using a combination of mindfulness, movement, sound and, at times, appropriate touch, I help clients to transform their experiences. Therapy is not one size fits all, nor does it always follow the same path with the same person for the duration of treatment. Because of this I offer other therapeutic modalities as well including creative/expressive arts, psycho-education, play therapy, and even more traditional talk therapy. I have a background in early childhood education and development and draw on this with both children and adults.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
