Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I strive to create a warm, nurturing and compassionate environment for personal exploration and healing. In this space all parts of you are welcome. I see therapy as a collaboration where you and I partner to create an achievable plan to improve your relationships, increase your sense of vitality, and work towards your personal goals. In my work, I have witnessed how life's challenges can create emotional scars that then consciously or unconsciously run our lives. These scars can manifest as a variety of mental health and relational issues. I focus on getting to know these places of hurt with compassion & respect. Numerous clients have reported profound changes in their lives by simply beginning to relate to themselves with more compassion and curiosity. Next, we work to gently release these scars to bring greater vitality and peace to your life. I am a trained mediator, am a certified breathwork practitioner, and am in the proces of being certified as an Internal Family Systems therapist. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques including: Expressive Arts and Somatic Techniques.

Patricia Ravitz, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
San Rafael, CA

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
