Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
If you are like most parents, you want the very best for your children. In the beginning of your parenting days, you may have thought to yourself, “my love is enough to raise a happy and confident child.” Yet as your child has reached new milestones in his life, you may find yourself wondering about your child’s security and happiness as outside influences pull at his self esteem. Are you seeing a decline in your child’s school performance? Is your child pulling away from their friends? Perhaps, your child is anxious or worried and does not want to participate in age appropriate activities? Maybe, you are wanting another listening ear for your child. If you are an adoptive parent, you may be needing more “tools” in your tool kit. Adoptive children have multilayered emotional needs. Each child is uniquely wired and their needs may range from added reassurance of a parents love to daily parental engagement in attachment activities. Dear Reader, you may be an adoptee who had emotional needs that were not met. You may find yourself striving for perfection, intimacy, or some degree of acceptance that you have not found attainable. I understand and have been there myself. I would like to share with you how I have found acceptance and peace. My mission is to help children build strong personal identities and have healthy relationships with their parents. And when more support is needed, I’d like to help.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
