Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Our potential is always unfolding!l Deepen awareness, heal obstacles and create consciousness! Destructive patterns of relating, depression, anxiety, shame, trauma and addictions leave us longing for loving, calming responses from within and in others, only to find the opposite exists. Life is lived at the effect of others responses to us, or our reactions to them, rather than from a grounded sense of self. The therapeutic relationship is a powerful tool to healing these entrenched cycles. I not only help you be present in yourself, I also expect presence of myself. Each patient's (individual, couple or family) treatment is collaboratively designed. Our relationship holding great importance in the process towards self understanding. From the youngest child through to adulthood knowing one’s self emotionally and responding to self and life in a reflective, congruent manner contributes to emotional health. Research tells us that being able to tell a cohesive, coherent story of what we experienced in our past and what those experiences meant to us, creates a spacious place in our minds to be thoughtful, expressive and attuned, allowing us to deepen all our relationships. This work develops between us and then will emerge in your daily life. Many clients have said they found their journey to self-understanding to be quite spiritual. As their witness and companion, I agree.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
