Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My therapeutic focus helps to improve one's quality of life through aiding deeper understanding of issues that lead to emotional, interpersonal and family difficulties. This is achievied through a supportive, direct, and trusting relationship, that allows one to feel safe in their personal exploration. Patricia Ravitz, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
San Rafael, CA

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
