Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I bring to the therapy room over twenty years of experience in child development. Children are able to express themselves, solve problems and grow when provided with an atmospere of acceptance, support and warmth within the safety of a structured environment. My primary role as a therapist is in providing these conditions. Secondly, I act as a facilitator in your conversation with yourself, your partner, or your children - helping you to discover a deeper, broader appreciation of the problem. Understanding the systems (including family of origin, community and culture) within which these issues arise is important. We will collaborate on exploring possible solutions as you discover the courage to make gradual, empowering changes in your life, your relationships, and your family.

Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
