Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley and my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. I have a Certification in Dual Diagnosis from the University of California, Los Angeles and am skilled in counseling persons who may be dealing with relationship issues, substance use/abuse as well as emotional challenges (e.g. depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma). I have 2 private practice office locations - South Torrance/Palos Verdes & West Los Angeles. I have extensive clinical experience and enjoy working with couples, adults, children and families. I continue to be instrumental as a facilitator, educator and supporter of positive change using an interactive, collaborative and solution-focused approach. I believe that the context in which a person was born, raised and lives has significant influence and impact on one’s feelings, thoughts and behaviors. In my experience with clients, taking into consideration both their past and present experiences can lead to increased awareness and understanding, significant improvements and successful results.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
San Rafael, CA

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
