Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
If we have the chance to meet, we will begin talking about the areas of your life where you would like help. You will be an active part in the therapy process. We’ll probably start with talking about important events in your life that you are having strong feelings about. You can expect to gain some insight into your behavior patterns. As your therapist, I will help you explore your beliefs about yourself and the people in your life.

Therapy will help you find hope whether you’re sad, worried, or having trouble moving past a troubling situation. Most painful feelings come from negative thinking. You will discover basic beliefs that have been getting in your way. By learning how to change negative beliefs, new behaviors become impossible for you. With new thoughts and behaviors, you begin to have a more positive attitude as well as constructive feelings.

Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
