Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I have been a practicing Adlerian psychotherapist for over 25 years. Adlerian theory says people’s behavior and thinking reflect their unique patterns of perceiving reality. When someone makes a mistake about how to act in the world their behavior is counter productive to finding acceptance and belonging. Psychotherapy is a process where one can learn to change their perceptions and actions. It is about helping restore faith in oneself along with the courage to handle life’s tasks.

I am adept at helping my clients find practical solutions to their problems. I am knowledgeable, encouraging and down to earth. I show respect for, and confidence in my clients. I provide encouragement by focusing on their strengths, resources, and efforts. A client recently said, “Riki knows how to go to the nugget of truth in life – big or small. Riki Intner helps people find the way, day after day.”
