Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing psychotherapy in a beautiful lakeside setting in Westlake Village, CA. I provide patients with a safe and warm environment in which to creatively explore the psychological dynamics affecting daily functioning, quality of relationships, and one's well-being. Utilizing an integrative therapeutic approach, patients benefit from talk therapy as well as art projects and sandplay techniques, suited for those times when silence and introspection are more effective than talk, or when feelings are too painful and scary to express verbally. Having raised my own family in the Conejo Valley I feel fortunate to be able to assist others in and around my community on their path toward a well-lived, meaningful life.

About My Practice

Office Hours
Available Tues-Thursday, by appt. only
Services
I specialize in grief and bereavement, surviving a loved one's suicide, pet loss, anxiety, OCD, OCPD, and work with life transition issues affecting children, adolescents and adults. I help patients manage PTSD and intruding thoughts from childhood trauma/abuse. Although my doctoral training was steeped in Jungian depth psychology, I also utilize an integrative approach which incorporates different therapeutic techniques: CBT, Narrative, Humanistic, Psychodynamic, sand tray and art. Therapy is a fluid process and therapeutic methods are determined by my patients' individual needs.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
