Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
We all have many layers of past experience that affect our present feelings, sense of self-worth and relationships. Therapy is a unique experience where we can explore these connections, develop greater self-awareness and make meaningful changes. I work closely with my clients to help you develop a greater sense of self-agency so that you can address feelings of depression, anxiety, stress or loss directly and move forward. I have a genuine interest in how people have developed their relational patterns and I look forward to hearing your story and helping you make positive changes in your life. Although I work primarily from a Psychodynamic perspective, I incorporate many different theories to best meet the unique needs of my clients while maintaining flexibility and balance. These include Humanistic, Person-Centered, Family Systems and Existential theories. I have special interests in mindfulness, relationships, attachment, parenting and early childhood development. My primary focus with you is on developing a safe, trusting and caring therapeutic relationship where we can collaborate together to help you achieve the changes you desire. I strongly believe that the support, trust and guidance that develop in the therapeutic relationship are the essential factors in personal growth.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
