Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I have conducted both long-term and short-term therapy. I help individuals and families learn about and develop hidden strengths and resources which help them in dealing with their current problems. For instance, I have helped individuals (both children and adults) to become more assertive, deal more effectively with issues of anger and more effectively manage stressful situations and conflictual relationships.

I use a variety of approaches and methods including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, anger management techniques, assertion training, role-playing, sandtray therapy, family therapy (in working with children and adolescents) and guided imagery.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
