Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Many people hide their unique and authentic self, conforming to the expectations of others. As a result, they become what others thing they should be, as opposed to the person they were meant to be. I believe psychotherapy can assist you in becoming reacquainted with yourself while exploring, embracing, and honoring your uniqueness. During this exploratory process, psychotherapy provides you with opportunities to work on personal issues, learn how to have more satisfying relationships, develop insight about why you developed certain coping strategies, and learn replacement strategies to those no longer working in your life.

I believe you are the expert in your life and can make positive changes, grow, and learn from the past. I take a respectful, caring, and empathic approach, as we work together to uncover your personal potential and find your own unique solutions to challenges you may face in life.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
