Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Warm, Honest, Practical.
I am a Cognitive-Behavioral therapist, and a clinical hypnotherapist who specializes in learning disabilities/ADD-ADHD, anxiety, depression, personal financial issues, child development and parenting, geriatric issues (including care-giver stress), developmental transitions, and general stress management.

In addition to my psychotherapy training, I have worked for over 15 years in the public school system as an education specialist and counselor. I bring reflective life experience to each of my areas of specialization. Since I have lived and worked in many countries and I am a member of a multi-ethnic family, I value diversity very highly.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy is collaborative, active for of treatment that combines insight with teaching new skills to effectively deal with problems. CBT has been shown, through vigorous research, to be highly effective for treating depression, anxiety, and stress. My personal approach is mindfulness-based, calm and respectful. I welcome your inquiries.
