Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Supportive and empathetic therapist who strives to understand your situation, help you resolve and move past life and relationship disruptions, and feel more empowered, satisfied, and secure. I work with LGBT individuals, couples, and families who want to work through distressing issues that are holding you back, like depression, anxiety, trauma, and addictions, and find acceptance in life. Both office hours and online therapy format available. I use a “best fit” between a variety of treatment approaches, like brief therapies, CBT, systems approaches, trauma therapy, and/or creative problem solving therapy. I also specialize in helping people who are coming to terms with their sexual orientation, people living with HIV or other serious medical conditions, and others searching for a more meaningful life. Whether you are facing a loss, trauma, or at a place in your life where you feel stuck, together we can resolve the issues in a short time frame. In addition, I provide individual and group process therapy to MFT interns to help you work through family-of-origin issues that stand in the way of helping others. By resolving countertransference issues and emotional roadblocks, you can become the therapist you want to be while earning credit for psychotherapy hours toward MFT licensure. ONLINE THERAPY FORMAT AVAILALE!

Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone.
