Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Welcome to my practice. I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in private practice in Danville, CA. with over 18 years experience in offering mind-body-spirit psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families and groups. I have led groups for teens, men and sexual offenders and worked for Contra Costa County's Children's Protective Services for several years. In addition, I have taught developmental psychology and neuroscience for the past 15 years at Diablo Valley College and John F. Kennedy University, and am an experienced workshop leader, coach and speaker. My practice is based on an integral model. I see each person as whole, and honor all aspects of the person in the healing process. We create a safe therapeutic relationship where you have the opportunity to genuinely reflect on your life and rekindle what is lost or absent. Psychotherapy is frequently viewed as an intermittent, lifelong process where individuals seek services for varying periods of time as the need arises. My model holds brief and longer-term therapy as being equally valuable, where length of therapy and treatment approach are determined by the presenting concerns and client preference.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
