Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
SPECIALIZED THERAPY FOR TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS...Are you the parent of a teenager who is having problems at school, with friends, and/or issues at home? Are you a college student or young adult dealing with issues relating to school, work, relationships, and/or family? I come to therapy with years of corporate business experience and I currently teach the Heart to Heart Seminar at Stanford Children's Hospital. My background includes work as a school therapist at Los Altos High School and training at the Community Health Awareness Council in Mountain View (CHAC). By selectively employing several highly effective therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness and meditation practices, I assist teenagers, college students, young adults, and their families: work through unsettling thoughts and feelings; navigate through growing pains and adversities; process important decisions; live happier, healthier, and more productive lives. My clinical practice includes helping teenagers, college students, young adults, and their family members decisively deal with the many challenges that people ages 13 to 30 frequently face. Please feel free to call me for a free consultation and to preliminarily discuss your situation. Weekend sessions are available.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
