Personal Statement:
H. Dan Smith practices Marriage and Family Therapy in a psychiatry office in Fresno, California. Occasionally, clients need both clinical support AND medical support, and this office is ideally suited to handle both aspects of one's mental health/therapy needs. Dr. Smith has been practicing in Fresno since 1982, and has been very involved with the profession both locally and on a statewide basis. Since 1978 he has been a Professor of Counseling at California State University, Fresno, and served as Chair of the department for fifteen years. He was also a founding member of the local California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists Central San Joaquin Valley Chapter and served on the Board of Directors of the state association of California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists from 1985 - 2000, and again from 2005 - 2008. He served as President of the 28,000 member California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists twice, in 1998 - 1999, and in 2006 - 2007. He is currently on the CAMFT Ethics Committee.
