Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am a young therapist in my 30’s and have two young children of my own. I am eager to help your children work through difficult issues so that they can get back on track developmentally and enjoy their childhood/teen years.

I have been facilitating bereavement art groups with children and teens since 2005. I am building my private practice and am focusing on individuals and family counseling for children and teens.

I am a board certified art therapist and find that art is a great tool to use to help children and teens who are less verbal work through difficult issues. Grief and loss are difficult issues for children and teens to express verbally. I have witnesses so much healing, and growth through art therapy.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which has been proven effective in resolving trauma of all kinds. I also use a variety of expressive modalities including sand tray and play therapy techniques.

During these difficult times I will try to accommodate your financial situation the best I can. I offer sliding scale fees, and am currently in the credentialing process for insurance panels.
