Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I focus mainly on adults, teenagers and families with personal and relationship issues. I offer Dialectical Behavior Threapy (DBT) in weekly skills training groups and individual sessions. I have extensive experience providing psychotherapy for clients dealing with a wide range of issues arising from substance abuse, ADHD, disabilities and chronic health issues. In addressing these issues I use methods that allow for the exploration of underlying psychological difficulties drawing on my training in psychology and my eclectic mix of educational and life experiences. My individually focused methodologies can help clients transform their entrenched behaviors that inhibit their full potential for a rewarding participation in life.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
