Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am a licensed Marriage, Family therapist with a doctorate in psychology. I have been in private practice for over 18 years.

I enjoy working with both adults and children. I have training and expertise in several types of therapies including: EMDR, brief counseling, play therapy and family therapy. I work with families, individuals (adult and children). My style is eclectic (I use several methods of therapy depending on the needs of the client). I have been an expert witness in several child abuse court cases and feel confident in my abilities as a therapist and as an expert witness.

I currently facilitate a 52 week court ordered group for those convicted of domestic violence crimes. I have done this for the last 10 years. I have worked with both offenders of domestic violence and sexual offenses as well as the survivors of these crimes.

Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
