Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
For over thirty years, I have been involved with youth and families in the arena of juvenile justice, domestic violence, trafficking and self-development. My clinical specialization includes: DEPRESSION, CHILD ABUSE and PHYSICAL and SEXUAL abuse, EATING DISORDERS, SELF-INJURY, FOSTER CARE, and RELIGIOUS abuse. An integration of Family Systems, Attachment and neurology, as well as Brief therapies allows the depth and vision needed for short and long-term change. Utilizing these theories interchangeably offers clients the ability to see how patterns of behavior, family dynamics and parent/child connectedness impact the developmental and relational styles of youth, families, and adults. Equipped with this knowledge, they are more able to identify, understand, learn new ways of behavior and maximize their opportunities toward change.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
