Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I have been in private practice for 30 years providing family counseling, individual therapy, couples counseling and group therapy. Over the years I have come to appreciate that healing is always a product of compassion and technical expertise. I have found that the best therapy must include a healthy balance of heartfelt goodwill and sound training in psychotherapy. I believe that no one is healed alone. Sometimes our growth and healing can be accelerated with the assistance of a licensed clinican. Recently, my partner and colleague, Teri Lindeman and I celebrated our 30th anniversary. In couples therapy I have taught hundreds of couples how to become loving partners who are committed to productive and passionate relationships. I treat a wide range of issues with my adult clients and I have taught effective parenting to countless families.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
