Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My goal is to touch people as I have been touched, and empower them to discover, know and express the essence of who they are. The term that best describes my approach is “compassionate acceptance.” A poster once read, “You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.” When we uncover and compassionately accept what’s true for us in the moment, more options open up. By exploring these options, we learn more satisfying ways of surfing the waves of life’s ups and downs. We then feel more confident, more hopeful, and more at ease-with life, and with ourselves. My orientation is eclectic and includes transpersonal, psychodynamic, and gestalt, as well as somatic/body-awareness perspective-the practice of remembering to tap into and integrate the wisdom of the body, as well as the mind, heart and spirit. I work with individuals, couples, and groups and also supervise interns.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Temecula, CA

I’ve been in private practice in Temecula since 1990. I work with individuals, couples and families on a variety of issues, using a straight-forward approach to problem solving. While I listen with empathy, I am an “active” therapist, meaning I make suggestions, give direction and homework to partner with my clients so they can solve their problems in a timely, effective manner.
