Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Are you feeling lonely or depressed? Have you felt on the edge with panic? Have relations left you confused or betrayed? Have addictions robbed you of your life? Does your heart and soul yearn to be free again. Allow me to help you deconstruct the debilitating nature of your problem as perceived through the dominant cultural paradigm. My approach with my clients is relational and client-centered. I believe in collaboratively establishing goals and helping find relief from your pain and solutions to your distress using a variety of somatic, cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness techniques and insight-oriented approaches to help develop compassion for yourself and your relations. With couples experiencing communication problems, sexual difficulties and/or infidelities, the focus of my work is on identifying and removing impediments to communication, discovering the spaciousness of forgiveness and/or honoring the need for separation and grieving as a form of growth. A significant portion of my work also focuses on the concerns of the LGBTQI community including coming out, homophobia and discrimination, relationship issues, HIV, substance abuse and sexual compulsive behaviors, parenting and aging.

Pamela J. Blawusch, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Carlsbad, CA

I provide a therapeutic environment that allows individuals and couples to explore ideas, beliefs, life experiences, thoughts and feelings that may stand in the way of being who you truly want to be. I can help point out repeating dysfunctional patterns that may exsist in relationships at home, at work and with friends and family.I teach people how to respond in their lives versus getting caught in reacting to personalities and events.
