Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
As a psychotherapist my areas of emphasis are loss issues, depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. I work collaboratively with individuals and couples to establish a strong client/therapist rapport. My work with clients is enhanced by my life experience which includes many losses. Depression and anxiety generally go hand in hand with the death of a loved one and/or divorce. Loss issues also include the loss of a childhood through abuse, neglect and abandonment which can affect the quality of adult relationships or the ability to navigate them successfully. Losses are varied, complex, painful and a part of the human condition. This is where I am at my best with clients. I help them create new lives and develop a deeper sense of who they are.

Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
