Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am located in the 'Waters at Creekside' complex at the corner of Bristol and Randolph, three blocks south of South Coast Plaza. I specialize in children, adolesents, and adults, working with individuals, couples, and families. With children I use Nondirective Play Therapy (to provide an environment to work through their fears, anxieties and issues through art or play). With adolescents and adults I use a combination of EMDR (to reduce trauma or move on from 'stuck' places), Narrative (to change our perceptions of our 'life stories,' allowing a healthier view of ourselves), Brief Solution Focused Therapy (to focus on making small concrete changes that redirect our lives more positively), and Object Relations (a longer term alternative that offers a 're-parenting' for those whose childhoods did not provide a strong foundation). I believe that all of us naturally gravitate towards health and wholeness when provided with a warm, nurturing, accepting environment.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
