Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am a solution-focused Marriage and Family Therapist in Lafayette, CA who specializes in working with children, teens, individuals and families. Areas of special interest include anxiety, depression, parenting/co-parenting/blended family, co-dependency and divorce. I focus on communication and connection as a way to improve relationships and sense of self. Thanks to today’s technology the avenues for communication have increased and along with it, ways to feel hurt, misunderstood or disconnected. Our ability to connect increases positive feelings about ourselves and others. The opposite often leads to feelings of depression, anxiety and low-self-esteem as well as issues like lack of academic motivation. By working together we can find ways to help you better understand and resolve whatever current life challenges, longstanding behavioral patterns and/or negative perceptions might be keeping you from experiencing a happier and more fulfilling life. If you would like more information on how I work, please call or email me. I offer a free 20-minute consultation to allow you to get to know me and see if my services are right for you.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
