Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My approach to therapy includes my ongoing commitment to monitor research and implement interventions that have been shown to be efficacious in addressing various therapeutic issues. For example, EMDR and TFCBT are used to improve relationships with self and others post-trauma, Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy to improve the quality of connection in couple relationships, and Triple P Parenting to improve parents’ relationships with their children. However, there is art in the implementation of these tools; individual personalities, preferences, readiness, and the quality of our connection are elements considered in creating a customized experience for you. I value client collaboration and integrate your feedback into the process, respecting unique differences. When you come to see me, I will listen to you before intervening, seeking to understand the idiosyncrasies of your experience.

Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
