Personal Statement:
Jennifer Jones is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 16 years of experience working with children and families in the Bay Area. She received her BA in Clinical & Counseling Psychology from San Jose State in 1990, the degree of Master of Social Welfare from UC Berkeley in 1994, and became licensed in 1998. Jennifer’s career started in a group home for autistic adolescents and young adults. Since then she has worked on and off with kids on the Autism spectrum, emotionally disturbed youth, foster children, and their families in both public and private mental health and school settings. Jennifer has a wide range of knowledge including school social work, juvenile dependency court and child protective services, collaborative family law practices, and special education law. She uses family systems, psychodynamic, developmental and cognitive behavioral theoretical approaches and evidence-based practices. Jennifer’s specialties include child abuse and neglect issues, divorce and high conflict families and co-parenting, childhood disorders and behavior management, and adolescents. Jennifer is culturally sensitive and able to establish rapport with members of diverse groups. Jennifer currently supervises MSW and MFT Interns for a community-based counseling agency while maintaining her private practice in Mountain View.
