Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Jenni June Villegas Wilson (www.JenniJVWilson.com) left the entertainment industry after over 20 years of working in film and television, driven by a long-standing desire to help others escape toxic connections and build healthier ones. She is committed to tapping into the innate potential of each client, so they can thrive peacefully as their most authentic selves in a high-speed modern world. As a collaborative conversationalist, Jenni uses an integrative approach based on post-modern and existential principles, focusing on conquering codependency, building successful relationships, bettering communication, managing stress, improving self-esteem, and increasing creative expression. She received her BA in theatre, with a music minor, from Occidental College in Los Angeles, an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University L.A., has completed basic training in EMDR, and completed a 9-month certification training in Narrative Therapy from Caspersen Therapy Training Center in Minnesota. Jenni is currently a Board-Member-At-Large and Speaker Chair for Los Angeles California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (LACAMFT). She produces and cohosts The Relationship Show with Dr. Wendy & Miss Jenni podcast (available on iTunes, GooglePlay, and Podbean), facilitates Creative Expression Groups as the Primary Clinician at Conclusions Intensive Outpatient Program in Mission Hills, and sees clients in private practice in West L.A. and Studio City. Jenni is biracial and hails from a Midwestern multicultural family of artists and performers, has five sisters, and is married to an award-winning television and film editor with whom she co-parents a needy blonde terrier named Sookie Blue… She met her husband online over ten years ago.
