Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Dedicated to working myself out of a job from the first session, I think people don’t need years to find out how they got toilet trained. Short term therapy and going right to the problem is more cost effective. After 44 years in the field, and 33 years in the addiction field, I have encountered most issues. If a patient is not getting a lot out of the session –right away-- they are probably in the wrong place. I am not subtle, but I am compassionate and think confrontation is an act of grace. Specializing in addiction, and psychological testing, I have encountered most issues in psychotherapy. I do court evaluations for impaired professionals and persons in trouble with the law. I have an M.A. and Psy.D., authored Militant Parenting, A Guide to Parents With Problem Kids and have been a consultant on Intervention (A&E).

Featured Therapist

Barbara Witney, MA
Donna Yorke, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Temecula, CA

I’ve been in private practice in Temecula since 1990. I work with individuals, couples and families on a variety of issues, using a straight-forward approach to problem solving. While I listen with empathy, I am an “active” therapist, meaning I make suggestions, give direction and homework to partner with my clients so they can solve their problems in a timely, effective manner.
