Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Do you feel hopeless or stuck in your life? Is your relationship generating more stress than joy? Do you struggle with panic or anxiety or overwhelming emotions? Therapy can help with issues like these – it can provide you with tools, resources and increased awareness to support you through effective change. My work is collaborative, interactive and nonjudgmental – I seek to support you in who you want to be in your life and offer new possibilities for personal growth. My approach is appropriate for those who want more insight, more clarity and are ready to be open and honest with themselves about who they are and what they want. I can help you discover your strengths while also supporting the challenges. I can teach you how to handle the hard spots more effectively and I can help you work through past hurts that are impacting you in the present. Change is possible and asking for a help is an essential first step.

About My Practice

Office Hours
Saturdays
Services
I work with adults and couples of all orientations. I generally see clients on a weekly basis and my sessions are 50 minutes, unless another arrangement is warranted. I offer counseling for specific, focused issues such as anxiety, depression or grief. This can be short or long-term and can be very practical or more depth-oriented, depending on what you are wanting and what's appropriate. I also offer depth-oriented psychotherapy which tends to be a longer term process of self-discovery and personal growth. In that model we can certainly address particular issues as they come up but the overall goal is usually focused on wholeness and health in general, increased aliveness and better functionality across all aspects of life. Additionally, I provide marriage counseling and couples therapy for people of all orientations and relationship status. Typically, couples work is focused on specific challenges that the couple is bringing such as communication, sex and intimacy or parenting challenges, to name a few. This can be shorter or longer term work though usually wants at least 3 months to make any significant progress.
