Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Are you feeling stressed out? Going through a transition? Struggling with anxiety? Feeling down? Having trouble in your relationship? Is your child or teen having problems? Since 1997 I have worked with children, adolescents, adults an couples in a variety of settings. As an intern I worked in a therapeutic preschool, elementary and middle schools and a university counseling center. After getting my license in 2001 I have worked at the Santa Clara County Department of Mental Health, and in private practice. Also, I have worked as an embedded counselor for the California Air National Guard from 2006 to present. Many of my adult clients are dealing with stress, anxiety, trauma and depression. I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy, EMDR and hypnosis with many of these clients. I also tend to use a solution-focused style where we agree on goals to work on between sessions. My work with couples includes helping to stop unhealthy patterns, and learning new ways to have intimate conversations. While working with kids I use play and art therapy to help them express their feelings. The teens I work with benefit by my support, encouragement and the opportunity to learn new coping skills. Please feel free to call me so we can determine if I am a good fit for you and vice-verso.
