Personal Statement:
Jo Sopko, MFT, RDT is a licensed Marriage Family Therapist and Registered Drama Therapist and Expressive Arts Therapist. She has worked with children for over 18 years and is a parent herself. Jo, is a child specialist at Homeward, a shelter in Marian, helping parents understand their children, while learning to take care of themselves as they deal with their transitioning lives. She helps parents learn to become more aware of the changes that their children may be experiencing and offers simple, easy interventions to help. Jo works with adults as well as supervises interns. In all her work she is committed to helping the client find his or her own potential with guidance and open heart. She has a private practice in Marin and San Francisco and is adjunct professor at the California Institute of Integral Studies with a background in Buddhist meditation.
