Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
As a psychotherapist, my primary strength is my ability to join the client and empathetically mirror their viewpoint, while providing alternative perspectives and encouraging insight and change. I embrace an eclectic approach to psychotherapy, attempting to utilize the techniques that best serve the clients I’m working with. I am very articulate, genuine, and sensitive to interpersonal dynamics.Though much of my work with sex offenders and victims is cognitive/behavioral, I believe there are deeper issues to be explored and resolved in clients’ lives, and I have an interest in integrating spirituality into psychotherapeutic work for those who are oriented to such work. Twenty years of working with clients navigating both family court and the criminal justice system have provided me a store of knowledge that allows me to serve as a resource as well as a support for those involved in sexual issues or allegations. More recently, I have worked with general mental health issues through insurance referrals.
