Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
In times of Crisis, Confusion, or Conflicts, you need a Caring, Committed, and Confident guide: I am licensed in the state of California as a Clinical Psychologist and as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I have many years of experience providing individual, group, and family therapy as well as conducting parenting classes. I also supervise interns, licensed clinicians, and conduct workshops on topics related to the counseling field. I specialize in trauma recovery, mood disorders and behavioral problems such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, ADHD, oppositional defiant and conduct disorders, stress management, low self-esteem, marital/family conflicts, and self-destructive behaviors. The foundation for my clinical work is based on deep understanding of the problem and underlying issues, accurate assessment/diagnosis, and effective treatment planning using evidence-based treatment practices, e.g. cognitive behavior therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, and structural family therapy. Most importantly, due to my own personal experiences of past trauma, severe adversities, rehabilitation process, and life transformation experiences, I can identify with my client’s pain and suffering while providing the support and guidance they need to improve or overcome their distressing situations. In my clinical practice, you can expect dedication, genuineness, empathy, and confidence. Call now for a free telephone consultation.

Patricia Ravitz, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
San Rafael, CA

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
